Post #2 - My Reality of Life
“Success is not the key to happiness.
Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be
successful.” As soon as I started high school all I’ve been hearing is “what
are you going to study?” and “you’ve got to study something that pays off”.
Almost every week different universities visit my school to tell us what they
offer, how much it cost and other things. But as soon as they asked me,
“what are you going to study”? My mind goes blank because I don’t know what to
answer. So, I just tell them what everyone wants to hear “I’m going to study
medicine”. Everyone says “That's great!” I continue talking to them as if it
really interests me, but it doesn’t. I mean of course I want to study, but I don’t
know what exactly. To tell you the truth
every time they mention universities or the future I get scared because it’s
hard to make such a BIG decision only when I’m sixteen (16). Most of the time I
sit in my room thinking what I am going to do with my future? I see most of my classmates have their life
planned and know what they are going to study. As days passes by I sit and
think to myself “What I'm going to do? But the only answer I have for
now is that I’m going to live my life to the fullest, enjoy every moment and
start researching the things I like and the things I’m good at; so when I make
this BIG decision I will do it with no doubts. Also I will know that when I make
this decision I will be happy with it, which means I will succeed in my studies and in
life.
